Here is the original information about the event:
We are delighted to announce the second seminar to be held by the Scottish Autism Research Group since it’s re-launch in 2015. This seminar will continue the theme of lifespan development started at the event in February 2015. We will explore research relating to autism in adulthood and ageing.
The day will feature talks from scientists and researcher-practitioners across Scotland the rest of the UK. We are particularly happy to share the news that the keynote speaker for the day will be Professor Pat Howlin, Professor of Clinical Child Psychology at King’s College London. Pat has an international reputation for excellence in the study of autism across the lifespan and was recently recognised for her contribution with the receipt of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society for Autism Research.
Other confirmed speakers include:
- Kirsty Ainsworth: University of Glasgow
- Asaad Bakshi: University of Edinburgh
- Kabie Brook: Autism Rights Group Highland
- Jill Ferguson & Val Laurie: Scottish Autism
- Stuart Ritchie: University of Edinburgh
- Amanda Roestorf: City University, London
- Ewelina Rydzewska: Scottish Learning Disabilities Observatory
- Plus SARG committee member talks
Registration for this event is now open.
To reserve a place please email sargATed.ac.uk (replace AT with @) stating your name, location and professional or personal interest (e.g. researcher, parent etc). This is so we can understand the balance of representation within the audience on the day. Please note that places are limited and in 2015 we had a waiting list of more than forty people. Places will be allotted at the committee’s discretion, partially on a first come first served basis, but also with regard paid to ensuring a balance of representation within the audience. Seminar attendees will be asked to register at the start of the day and late-comers will not be admitted – please therefore only register if you know you are able to attend the full day.
